GRAHAM Building is using an off-site manufacturing facility to deliver the scheme, enhancing the quality, safety and sustainability of the construction programme. Embracing Modern Methods of Construction, the development includes\u00a0pre-fabricated\u00a0sandwich panels, integrating external brick finish\u00a0with\u00a0Metal\u00a0Technology Ltd\u2019s\u00a0System 5-35 Hi+ <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/themes\/metaltech\/img\/thermal.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"86\" height=\"16\" \/>\u00a0 Tilt and Turn windows, which included the development of a bespoke\u00a0extrusion. The project was fabricated and installed by approved MT fabricator APiC UK. Our System 17 \u2013 50mm curtain walling and System 5-20D Doors were also utilised.<\/p>\n<p>The 1,480-bed project, designed by Sheppard Robson, will help to transform the Heslington East Campus. Student welfare is paramount with the design focusing on harnessing the benefits of the project\u2019s natural, waterside setting. The project has been broken down into 18 blocks that step down from four to three storeys as you get closer to the waterfront, helping frame views of the lake and also embedding the project within the landscape. The strong, simple forms of the blocks, characterised by robust pre-cast concrete and brick, have been designed to be a modern interpretation of the character of the university\u2019s 1960s campus.
