We are now well ahead of our target to reduce these emissions by 50% by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of our Climate Action Pledge and wider sustainability strategy, we selected 2019 as our baseline year. Over the past four years, we\u2019ve achieved the following reductions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2b07\ufe0f 2021: 14.28%<br>\u2b07\ufe0f 2022: 18.77%<br>\u2b07\ufe0f 2023: 35.41%<br>\u2b07\ufe0f 2024: 45.52%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key steps we&#8217;ve taken:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2733\ufe0f Switched all company cars to petrol, hybrid or electric<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2733\ufe0f Invested in 3 new electric forklifts (now 8 total)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2733\ufe0f Upgraded all office lighting to LED with sensors where applicable<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2733\ufe0f Moved from gas to electric heating<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2733\ufe0f Installed a new 100kW solar array with battery storage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2733\ufe0f Switched to a 100% green energy provider<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our efforts earned us Top 40 Performer status in Business in the Community Northern Ireland\u2019s NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey (NIEBS), reaching Platinum Level in just our second year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re also actively working to measure and reduce our Scope 3 GHG emissions, with notable progress made through our Low Carbon Aluminium procurement policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LinkedIn_MT_Carbon_Emissions-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4802\" width=\"592\" height=\"592\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LinkedIn_MT_Carbon_Emissions-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LinkedIn_MT_Carbon_Emissions-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LinkedIn_MT_Carbon_Emissions-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LinkedIn_MT_Carbon_Emissions-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LinkedIn_MT_Carbon_Emissions-1536x1536.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LinkedIn_MT_Carbon_Emissions.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve achieved a 45% reduction in carbon emmissions since 2019.
