{"id":862,"date":"2017-03-15T15:17:54","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T15:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.bigpixelcreative.com\/metaltech\/?p=862"},"modified":"2017-06-27T15:31:15","modified_gmt":"2017-06-27T14:31:15","slug":"metal-technology-sheds-new-light-on-brunswick-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/metal-technology-sheds-new-light-on-brunswick-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Metal Technology sheds new light on Brunswick House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NW Architects\u2019s brief was to transform an existing 12-storey 1970s office building in Southampton into high end student apartments: The solution was to re-clad the main tower and utilise Metal Technology\u2019s System 17 and System 4-35Hi architectural aluminium systems, not only in the tower but also in the development of the 3-storey street frontage.<\/p>\n<p>The extensive remodelling of the external envelope featured the complete design flexibility and superior, whole life performance of System 17 high rise curtain walling. A new lightweight floor constructed mostly from System 17 was also added to the street fa\u00e7ade. This was set back from the main fa\u00e7ade and was glazed with a combination of glass and insulated panels.<\/p>\n<p>Metal Technology\u2019s System 4-35 casement windows were used throughout the tower and street fa\u00e7ade both in curtain walling and stand-alone applications. Part of the company\u2019s high-performance <img src=\"https:\/\/www.metaltechnology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/thermal_smlogo.png\"> range, System 4-35 windows utilise bespoke thermal gaskets, cellular foams and polyamide thermal isolators all of which contribute to impressively low U values.
